Burglar Protection
The Mesa MBF6032E features all steel construction, made of 100% steel
unlike the competition which sometimes uses plastic body parts. The body
is made of 12 gauge steel and the door is 7 gauge, with an additional
11 gauge steel plate covering the lock and handle area. This is much
better than the 18 or 16 gauge steel "cabinets" you find in the big box
stores which claim to be gun safes. The all steel body has an overall
thickness of 1-1/2" enclosing the fire resistant material. The massive
1-1/2" diameter solid steel live locking bolts add burglar protection
and make it difficult to pry the door open. Not only are they big, but
there are plenty of them. There are 5 live bolts on the latch side, 2
live bolts on top, 2 live bolts on the bottom of the door and 5 dead
bolts on the hinge side. This makes it very difficult if not almost
impossible to pry the door open.

Fire Rating
The Mesa MBF6032E gun safe
features a one hour fire rating tested to withstand temperatures up to
1,750 degrees Fahrenheit. This safe has also been drop tested and is
built to survive a 2 story fall. This means that if you have a fire, and
your safe falls through the floor, it is built to withstand the fire
and the drop.
Locks
There are two types of locks on the Mesa MBF6032E gun safe.
There is a dial combination lock which has a 3 number combination.
There is also a FREE digital electronic lock upgrade for no extra cost.
This is a battery operated lock which is protected by a punch activated
spring loaded re-locking device. You can enter your own customized code
and also program in a time delay.

There

and door panel are fully upholstered. The interior shelving can also be

I’m Shannon with Gunsafes.com, and I wanted to take just a moment to talk a little bit about this model and touch on all of the great features it has to offer. Mesa’s MBF series has, by far, been one of our hottest sellers, and the 6032 in particular, has been at the head of the pack, due to its perfect size and competitive price point.
Action packed with a list of security features and specs, let’s start from the outside and work our way inside, beginning with the body. It’s constructed of 12 gauge steel, which contributes to the total overall wall thickness of 1 5/8”, along with the fire resistant material. The door itself boasts a thickness of 4 3/8”. And within that 4 3/8” you’ll find a massive 3-way locking system consisting of 12, 1 ½” diameter, solid steel locking bolts, a drill resistant hard plate and a punch activated relocking system. This trinity of security offers a definite peace of mind when it comes to, not only defending your valuables from burglary attack, but also guarding your fire arms from getting into the hands of, perhaps, young and inexperienced family members; warding off any possibility of dangerous accidents.
In addition to all of these security features, Mesa has equipped their MBF series with your choice of mechanical or electronic locks. The LaGard mechanical lock is a U.L. listed group II combination dial that is resistant to semiskilled manipulation attacks. The electronic lock used is the Mesa’s own MSL-50. Although it is not U.L. rated, it does come equipped with a low battery warning, multiple invalid code defense and is programmable with up to two unique users.
Now, helping to secure the MBF6032’s spot as one the “biggest bangs for your buck”, its 1 hour fire rating at 1750 degrees is exceptional at this price point. Factory tested, it keeps the internal temperature at or below 350 degrees when conditions are kept within these perimeters. And its heat activated intumescent door seal further protects for valuables, by expanding to 5 times its original size, creating an impenetrable barrier to fire and smoke, as well as creating the added benefit of some water resistance.
Once inside the safe, you’ll find a fully convertible interior, which allows you to switch from a long gun and shelf configuration to an all long gun option, utilizing its full storage capacity for 26 long guns. And carpet from top to bottom ensures that your barrels and stocks are protected from scratching. The bottom is predrilled with mounting holes and does come with mounting hardware. However, with a hefty weight of 668 lbs, this step may not be entirely necessary.
