The GunVault SV500 is a good product, well designed and secure. Easy to install.

Only have one small issue. This is mounted on the side of a dresser right next to my bed. Access is awesome, but I do wish there was a way to quiet the small noise it makes when opening. At 3:00 AM it would sound LOUD. I'm going to add some acoustic sound deadening material on the entire outside, (The same stuff youngsters use to keep their car sheet metal from rattling with 50,000 Watt stereo systems)

All in all a very good investment.....

Love the unique fast-access concept and the rugged quality of this safe. You CAN indeed turn of the beep sounds for discreet access.

I selected a key sequence that allows me to enter correctly in pitch dark, going only by feel.

My only complaint is that the Thumb-screws at the back of the box are a BITCH to put in. The powder-coat finish is inside the threads of the box, making it necessary to chase the threads with a tap. These holes should have been plugged during the coating process to prevent this problem. Also, the thumbscrews are nearly impossible to align with large hands. I think a tool (magnetic maybe) should have been supplied to help with this.

All in all a great safe!
