This is a very substantial safe and is also cool looking. I was even impressed by the shipping - it came on metal shipping feet instead of the usual wooden pallet. It was enclosed on all sides with a wood shipping jacket to avoid any scratches or damage to the finish.

I had it installed by a local locksmith friend who also sells safes. He and his helper were quite impressed with the welding quality and the fit and finish of the safe.

Even my wife liked the looks. She volunteers as a Docent at the local Courthouse Museum and said it looks like an antique in the museum.

(It does, except for the fact I chose the electronic lock - for speed of opening purposes - and the dial lock would make it look much more like an antique.)

The fire rating is good and the finish, especially the interior is great. Lots of flexibility with inside configuration with parts supplied.

My only suggested improvement would be that the safe be factory fitted for an electrical connection and, perhaps, even computer/ethernet connections also, like so many other safes are these days. An internal lighting system would also be ideal. I fitted mine for an electrical supply inside, but I would be a bit more comfortable with a factory system, since I'm not an electrician.

Overall, a great investment in a quality product my opinion!

<p>Just had this delivered yesterday and my first impression was "Wow", I had never seen this safe in person, just photos. I loved the old time look and man it does not disappoint. The interior shelves are easily adjustable to any configuration you desire. The delivery company sent 5 people to get this in my basement, and it was a process but they ultimately got it done. This sucker is heavy! Safe now does come with internal power which is nice, I think in some previous versions this was not included. Overall very satisfied with the safe and with gunsafes.com. It was 4 weeks from order to delivery. No Tax and Made in the USA!!</p>
