This was my first gunsafe purchase. The Sentry 1459 is a budget friendly entry level safe. Holds approx. 10 (14? small .22s maybe) longrifles tightly. Only holds 5 or so long rifles if you use the included shelves. Adjustable shelving is nice but the wood is flimsy particle board. I opted for the gloss finish. The safe is very easy on the eyes, with a flawless paintjob. The combolock is sturdy and good quality. The door is thick and heavy duty but the body is somewhat thin. This will stop a smash and grab theif, but not a seasoned criminal. With only 6 total bolts on the door (3 dead, 3 active), I don''t think it would take much work to pry open. Also I think some good axework could breach the sides. At 400lbs this safe is really easy to move unloaded, and is slightly front heavy.

I am very pleased with the price and this safe is perfect for my living situation and home protection needs. If you have a valuable collection or live in a high crime area I would opt for a more expensive, rock-solid safe. But I think for most people, this safe makes the cut.
